AGM - 12th SEPTEMBER 2007

MINUTES OF MEETING

The AGM took place in Calderglen Secondary School and was attended by 20 club members.

Bob Donnelly gave the Presidents report this was followed Angus McCaskill giving the Secretary's & Treasurer's reports.
The main points were: -

• The Blackpool Boat Show trip last October was very successful and another one to this year's show is being run. The bus is almost full, only 9 seats are now left. Payment is required by 3rd October.
• There is still no news as regard the new accommodation in the new school, but a meeting takes place next Thursday 20th October with the powers that be, so we might here more then. If we only get offered a classroom and no storage space for the clubs machinery we may be forced to sell it.
• The annual regatta was a success after a very shaky start in April and a vote of thanks was given to all those who had helped to make it a success.
• There were discussions as to the way forward for the club and the development of the Club Web site.
• The sailing at Strathaven pond was discussed and the lack of attendance of some members. It was reported that Sailing on a Sunday morning had picked up ( 9-00am till 11-00am) and it was noted that the Park Staff refrained from putting the boats out till 11-30am, which helped the situation. Over the season they had done their best to keep the pond clear of weeds, which is an almost impossible task.
• The Treasurer's report was gone through in detail and the main thing was that the club had made a small profit last year. This was mainly due to the uncertainty of the accommodation in the school this year.

The committee for last year then stood down and the election of the new committee took place, The members elected were: -
